Verwijder de tester uit de grond en pak een handvol van de grond in je hand. Sluit je vuist om te zien of hij blijft klonteren of uit elkaar valt. Als de grond uit elkaar valt, giet je 1 tot 2 kopjes gedestilleerd water in de losgemaakte grond om je voor te bereiden op pH-testen.

Pak het bovenste, ronde deel van de tester vast en duw het naar beneden in het voorbereide gebied totdat de onderste metalen punt volledig bedekt is met aarde. Gebruik je handen om de grond stevig tegen de tester te drukken om luchtzakken te verwijderen.

Wacht drie minuten en kijk naar de bovenste knop om te zien waar de bovenkant van de naald wijst om de pH-waarde van de grond te bepalen.
